Juan Pablo Gambetta
Economist & Translator
I work in applied microeconomics — market structure, pricing, and the quantitative side of competition and regulatory questions. [Say what you actually do, and for whom.]
[Your background: where you studied, what you have worked on, what kinds of problems you are usually brought in for.]
I also write and translate. Most of that work lives at La busca de Juan; a few pieces are collected here, where the economics sits beside them — which is, more or less, an accurate picture of how I spend my time.
What I do
Merger Analysis
Economic analysis for merger control proceedings, including market definition, competitive effects simulation, and remedy design, across Phase I and Phase II investigations.
Market Studies
Structural and behavioral assessment of market functioning, including barrier-to-entry analysis, market power measurement, and competitive dynamics.
Damages Quantification
Quantification of antitrust damages using comparator-based methods, but-for analysis, and econometric techniques, for follow-on litigation and arbitration.
